This emergency key fits snugly inside compatible smartkey remotes for select Lincoln Continental, MKX, MKZ, MKC, Nautilus, and Navigator models. It is easily accessible from the inside of the remote.
 
Emergency keys are a preventive measure against potential lock-out situations and can be released from the remote with a simple pull or push of the release latch. These keys do not require any special programming. 
 
The item pictured has a high security key blade, a special type of blade that is cut down the center of the key rather than the edges. Cutting this key will require a unique key machine, typically managed by locksmiths.
